Initially a gruff, stoic figure, Joshua has warmed to you over the few months you have journeyed together. Despite this, he still talks little about himself, unless he has one too many ales. A wagon driver by trade, he helped you transport the Bowshot refugees to Waterdeep, and then gave you a ride to Hellsgate Keep. At Everlund, however, his wagon was impounded during the disappearance of Luthar, and he missed his delivery schedule. As such, he has taken to making his money by ferrying you and Brandel around Faerun, a role he seems to be both enjoying and finding importance in. Unfortunately, old wounds were opened upon meeting with the merchant Belwar on the trip to Yartar. The deep gnome had previously ruined Joshua’s career, and seeing him again caused Joshua to become bleak. He quickly rejected Mo’s suggestion of seeking revenge, however.
A world-weary ex-soldier, Captain Gregor Rennings remained an extremely powerful fighter, despite his advanced years. Retiring from the military following the War with Amn, he became captain of Bowshot’s guard, a role his experience and strength made him overqualified for. Sadly, his quiet life was shattered when you arrived at the village. After the defeat of Batlin, Rennings’ discussed with you the location of Hellsgate Keep, and offered to find transportation for you, in return for you finding a way to stop the lizardfolk banditry along near the Lizard Marsh. During your first battle with the bandits near the village, he intervened with greatsword in hand, effectively saving your lives. Whilst you were away, Rennings was killed by a knife slash to the throat, and then raised as a zombie, becoming Xavier’s most dangerous creation.
An intelligent, if arrogant man, Xavier was Captain Rennings’ second-in-command. In this role, Xavier was entrusted with dealing with matters of magic, something the captain knew little about. When Batlin’s Staff of Necromancy was brought in, Xavier set about studying it, and was eventually corrupted by its latent power. Harbouring a secret grudge against Captain Rennings, Xavier lost his grip on sanity, and used the staff to destroy Bowshot. Upon his defeat at your hands, his mind cleared, and he died regretting his actions.

A warm man, by dwarf standards, Oskar is a talented blacksmith and owner of the Mail of Hope armoury. He was greatly pleased that Barberch showed an interest in his work, and helped her improve her crafting skills. During the decimation of Bowshot, Oskar took up his hammer and stood against roving zombies to protect the refugees of Bowshot. After the incident, he refused to leave, being one of the one remaining souls in the ruined village.

Maeken is the head priest of Bowshot’s Chapel of Pelor and, as such, is welcoming to travelers and new faces. Despite his great age, he helped shelter those fleeing from zombies within his church, saving dozens of lives. Last you saw him, the kindly old man was attempting to rebuild Bowshot, with help from Oskar and a scant few others.

The owner and bartender of the Misty Unicorn tavern, Malcolm is a practical businessman above all else. Whilst not unfriendly, he refused to give out any information until drinks were purchased. Your fight with Batlin ended with one of his rooms being obliterated, but his anger was assuaged when you pay him a tidy sum in compensation. Losing his tavern, his brother and Wendy to the village’s destruction reduced him to a shell of his former self. Like many, he became a refugee to Waterdeep.
Wendy was the Misty Unicorn’s barmaid, but her chief interest was gossip. She appeared to have a crush on Captain Rennings, and talked about him often. In this way, she revealed to you his first name, and his military history. She died in Xavier’s uprising, and was subsequently raised as a zombie, amongst many others. Her chatty, friendly nature was greatly missed by those that survived.
A larger-than-life and flamboyant merchant, Reese pushed his wares with gusto. He was the owner of Reese’s Fine Things, and was rarely seen without his trademark luxury cape. He also often had apparent trouble remembering people’s names. He was killed and raised as a zombie by Xavier, destroying his shop and rending his cape to tatters.

Reese’s long-suffering apprentice/assistant (during on who you ask), Seakul is an expert with evaluating gems and precious materials. He was shell-shocked after Reese’s Fine Things burnt down and the zombie of Reese himself tried to devour him. Escaping with only a few items to his name, he refused to discount his prices even when selling to you, so as to avoid poverty. He hopes to start afresh in Waterdeep, optimally where people don’t call him “Seagull”.
A wise and powerful elf, and leader of a group of druids met on the way to Bowshot. He assisted with Quarion’s official initiation to druidhood, leading him to a great bear that served as a protector of the woods. He also recognised the legendary nature of Vanya’s pendant, and was able to restore some of its power. Despite his powerful magic, ability with a spear and his falcon companion, he was decapitated by the zombie form of Captain Rennings in the ruins of Bowshot, and was lain to rest nearby.

Thamior’s second in command of the small band of druids, Mialee is a sweet and generous girl. Along with her owl companion, she became friends with Ellywick, the pair of them having several similarities, such as their use of a sling. After Thamior’s death, Mialee took over command of the remaining druids, and resolved to be a strong leader. Last you saw, the band was heading South from Bowshot.
An orc of above-average strength, found in the Misty Forest tomb. Gurmesh and his band had become increasingly annoying with finding undead in “their” forest, and had tracked down the source. Assaulting the tomb, Gurmesh had overpowered Batlin and had him at his mercy… until you arrived. Gurmesh and the orcs eagerly engaged you in a skirmish, but you were able to slay them as Batlin escaped.
